Dog Grooming Tutor Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of dog grooming tutoring services ("Services") by [Lilys Pooch Parlour / Lilias Munro] ("Tutor", "we", "us", or "our") to you ("Client", "Student", or "you"). By booking or attending any session, you agree to these Terms.


2. Services Offered
•    In home dog grooming lessons 

The  Tutor will provide one-on-one instruction tailored to your dog's breed, coat type, and temperament
•    Brushing & Coat Care Sessions at the Tutor's Parlour

Hands-on sessions held at the Tutor’s grooming parlour, focusing on brushing, coat maintenance, and general grooming care for puppies and adult dogs. 
•    Nail Clipping Instruction at the Tutor's Parlour

Learn how to safely and effectively clip your dog's nails under the guidance of a professional. The Tutor covers tool use and techniques on how to safely clip your dogs nails.
•    Trim and tidy sessions at the Tutor's Parlour

These sessions are designed to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of your dog between full grooms. These sessions may include light trimming of the face, feet, and sanitary areas, brushing, and minor coat tidying. This is not a full grooming service.

•    Nail Clipping Service at the Tutor's Parlour

This service is offered to anyone who needs their dogs nails clipped by the Tutor.

3. Booking and Payment
•    All sessions must be booked in advance after a discussion on whether any of the courses are suitable for you
•    The full fee must be paid upon booking
•    Accepted payment methods include [cash or bank transfer].
•    Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice.


4. Cancellations and Refunds
 

•    Notice Period

Students must provide a minimum of 7 days notice to cancel or reschedule a booked session. This allows time to offer the appointment slot to other Students and manage the schedule effectively.

•    Cancellations within 7 days
Cancellations made with less than 7 days notice are not eligible for a refund. This includes missed appointments or rescheduling requests within that timeframe.

•    Tutor Discretion
Refunds or rescheduling exceptions may be granted at the Tutor's sole discretion in special circumstances (e.g., emergencies, illness). Supporting documentation may be requested.

•    How to cancel or reschedule
Cancellations or changes must be communicated directly via phone, email, or text to ensure they are received and confirmed. The date/time of the message will be used to determine eligibility for a refund or reschedule.

•    No shows
Clients who do not attend their scheduled session without prior notice will not be refunded and may be required to pre-pay for future appointments.


5. Student Conduct and Responsibilities
•    Students must treat all animals with care and respect.
•    Students are expected to follow safety instructions at all times.
•    The Tutor reserves the right to terminate a session if the student behaves inappropriately or unsafely.


6. Animal Welfare and Handling
•    Dogs that are aggressive during the grooming process are not accepted on this course

•    Students are fully responsible for the behaviour and safety of their dogs

•    Health and Safety is paramount during the entire grooming process
•    The Tutor reserves the right to stop the course midway if they feel it is not safe to continue due to aggression from either the dog or their owner


7. Liability
    While every effort is made to ensure a safe learning experience, the Tutor is not liable and will not be held liable for any or all of the following:

•    Any personal injury sustained by the Student, the Student's dog or any third party present during sessions

•    Any damage to, destruction of, or loss of value to the Student's property or possessions

•    Any damages resulting from the Student's implementation of or failure to properly implement techniques, methods, or practices taught during tutoring sessions
•    Students participate at their own risk.


8. Intellectual Property
•    Course materials and content provided by the Tutor are for personal educational use only.
•    Reproduction, sharing, or resale of materials without permission is prohibited.


9. Photography and Media
•    With your permission, we may take photos/videos during sessions for promotional purposes.
•    Please inform us in writing if you do not wish to be photographed or filmed.


10. Amendments
These Terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of the Services after changes indicates your acceptance of the new Terms.

The Student hereby acknowledges and expressly agrees that participation in tutoring sessions involves inherent risk and voluntarily accepts and assumes all risk from this.
